about me

I've always taken the road less traveled because I like new challenges and am not adverse to risk. Design is the road I chose after leaving a successful career in the film and television industry. My motivator was a desire to give something back to the environment by designing efficient, healthier spaces where people live, work and thrive. That said, I think great spaces are about people and also should be fun, exciting, restful or thought-provoking.

I got involved with the sustainable building community by volunteering on boards with like-minded individuals, and am working towards my LEED GA accreditation and Living Building Future Institute's Ambassador training. To be a true global citizen and great designer, I believe that we should experience the world on many levels, then take these lessons home and incorporate them into our work. I travelled over 3 continents during my schooling, all of which helped me gain a broader understanding of changing climate, client needs and changing ideas. In the spring of 2015, I completed a field school study that immersed us in the Colombian Amazonian rainforest culture, and I examined up-close our host reserve - a remarkable place that is off the grid and fully sustainable.

I look forward to earning my NCIDQ in the future.  My toolkit contains solid technical, creative and people skills and a curiosity for all things new that I am keen to develop within a new team.
